A large dairy located in Colorado is seeking a strategic and experienced Dairy Manager to provide leadership, ensure compliance with established protocols, foster collaboration with external partners, and drive operational excellence across all facets of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership And Workflow Coordination - Oversee daily operations across milking, heifer development, and cropping divisions. Lead by example, mentor frontline supervisors, and ensure efficient execution of protocols and schedules across operations.
Protocol Compliance And Operational Standards
- Maintain high standards of care and compliance by enforcing herd health, reproduction, and milking protocols. Serve as the primary contact for protocol implementation and audit preparedness.
Collaboration With Off-Farm Partners
- Coordinate regular herd health checks with the vet and nutritionist. Act as the liaison between the farm and outside consultants, ensuring that recommendations are understood and implemented effectively.
Technology And Data Utilization
- Leverage DairyComp and FeedWatch to monitor herd performance, feeding accuracy, and employee productivity. Analyze trends and performance reports to drive proactive improvements.
Administrative Oversight
- Conduct monthly inventories, assist with ordering feed and supplies, and support budgeting tasks. Track input usage and help with cost monitoring and control.
Feed And Cropping Involvement

- Participate in feed procurement and evaluate feed usage reports. Collaborate with the farm team on cropping plans and integration between forage production and feed programs.

Qualifications:

- 35+ years of leadership experience on a large dairy or livestock operation
- Familiarity with DairyComp 305, FeedWatch, and other dairy management software
- Strong team leadership and communication skills, including conflict resolution
- A proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate and address problems
- Experience managing compliance, audits, and safety protocols
- Spanish language skills (conversational or fluent) strongly preferred
- Understanding of feed procurement, inventory systems, and basic budgeting
