At HawaiiUSA FCU our Fraud Analyst will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization and its customers from fraudulent activities. Your primary objective will be to identify, investigate, and resolve potential fraud cases by analyzing complex data and transaction patterns. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act. This role demands a proactive approach to fraud prevention and detection, utilizing advanced tools and methodologies to mitigate risk. Ultimately, your work will contribute to maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of the financial services provided by the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred bachelor’s degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data organization, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Strong problem resolution skills demonstrated in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 years' experience working in a financial institution's branch, call center, or customer service environment.
  • Proven experience in fraud investigations within the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of credit reporting and regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Certification in fraud examination (e.g., CFE) or related credentials.
  • Experience with advanced fraud detection software and analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with financial crime compliance programs and risk management frameworks.
  • Additional training or coursework in cybersecurity or financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspected fraudulent activities using data analysis and case management techniques.
  • Monitor and analyze transaction data and customer behavior to detect anomalies indicative of fraud.
  • Collaborate with branch and call center teams to gather relevant information and resolve customer inquiries related to fraud cases.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal policies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support findings and assist in legal or regulatory proceedings.
  • Develop and recommend improvements to fraud detection and prevention processes and systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational goals, emerging fraud trends, and industry best practices.

The expected pay range for Fraud Analyst is $24.66 to $28.84 per hour.
