Product Owner / Scrum Master (Hybrid)

Location: Englewood, CO (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and technically fluent Product Owner / Scrum Master hybrid to support our Paid TV initiatives within their ecosystem. This role will sit at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, working closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, and the enterprise to translate ideas into executable user stories and deliver business value through agile development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership

Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.

Gather, analyze, and translate feature requests and business needs into clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria.

Prioritize backlog items to ensure alignment with business goals and technology feasibility.

Facilitate solutioning discussions—guiding business stakeholders toward realistic, scalable outcomes while keeping user and business value front of mind.

Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, clearly communicating trade-offs, timelines, and feasibility in a thoughtful and professional manner.

Scrum Master Duties

Lead Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

Coach the team in Agile best practices to ensure consistent delivery and continuous improvement.

Remove roadblocks and foster a collaborative, productive team environment.

Track sprint progress and ensure delivery remains on time and in scope.

Technical Translation & Communication

Understand the Paid TV product landscape and related systems well enough to translate business needs into actionable development tasks.

Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA to ensure user stories are executable, testable, and clearly understood.

Evaluate technical limitations or risks and guide trade-off decisions while maintaining alignment to business intent.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Scrum Master role (hybrid experience highly preferred).

Experience supporting consumer-facing digital products in the media, telecom, or subscription TV industry.

Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and proven ability to lead agile teams.

Comfortable working with Jira, Confluence, and Agile planning tools.

Ability to break down complex ideas and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Adept at building strong relationships with stakeholders and fostering cross-functional alignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the Paid TV or content distribution space.

Familiarity with OTT platforms, content management systems, and video delivery technologies.

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or Certified Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.

Strong systems-thinking mindset and a knack for creative problem solving.
